Every message sent with ASMI is based on a Template. You must first create a Group Message Template and/or Auto Reply Template in order to use ASMI. Below is your step by step guide to the setup and use of ASMI™’s marketing features. Important notes to remember:

  1. Group Message Templates are used for sending messages to multiple contacts and/or groups. Auto Reply Templates are used to send personalized replies to messages received.
  2. Campaigns are a cutting edge automation tool that allow users to customize and send their marketing events over an extended period of time. This ability to create a sequence of marketing events helps businesses define their brand experience and retain a loyal customer base. Campaigns are easy to create and are proven to be a highly effective method of drip marketing!
  1. From the Dashboard, start by pressing the Create Template icon. A message will appear: “Which type of Template would you like to create?” Press the “Group Mssg” button.
  2. Create a name for the template. This name is only for your reference.
    1. You may select the MMS option at the bottom. By selecting MMS, you will be able to attach a small image or file. NOTE: When MMS is selected you will be required to manually approve sending each message due to an Android rule. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to avoid this minor inconvenience.
  3. Create the text you want to send. (message content)
  4. Save the template.
  5. From the Dashboard, press the Group Message Templates icon. Here, you will see the template(s) you created for group messages. In order for your template to become ACTIVE: You must touch the power icon next to the template to enable it. (Red = disabled. Green = enabled.) Touch the back arrow to return to the Dashboard.
  6. From the Dashboard, press the Send Group Messages icon. You will see all Group Templates which you have enabled from the last step. Select the template you want to send by pressing the template preview. Press the Schedule button to have the message sent at a future date or press the Send button to send immediately.
  7. The next screen will be where you choose who the message will be sent to (contacts and/or groups). Select them accordingly and press Next.
  8. The next screen will display a preview of the message, the contacts / groups that it will be sent to and if you chose to Schedule the message it will display a date/time picker to set when the message will be sent.
  9. Press Send or Confirm & Schedule to send the message.

  3. Customize the text you want to be sent. (message content)
  4. Select the Keywords desired for the template. Note: The keyword(s) are the words that your customers will text you in order to receive this Auto Reply message.
  5. Save the template.
  6. From the Dashboard, press the Auto Reply Templates icon. You will see the template(s) created for auto reply messages. In order for your template to become ACTIVE: You must touch the power icon next to the template to enable it. (Red = disabled. Green = enabled.) Touch the back arrow to return to the Dashboard. To allow this message to be sent automatically to missed phone calls, select that option and enable Phone Auto Reply in the app’s Settings. Touch the back arrow to return to the Dashboard.

The Campaigns function is a powerful tool for timed drip marketing. Campaigns rely on templates you have created and chosen to allow a cascading sequence of marketing events to be sent to clients over an extended period of time of your choosing. Group Messages Templates can be sent in sequential order over minutes, hours, or days (ie: send new specials weekly) to keep your clients in touch with your brand. The Auto-Reply feature triggers the marketing sequence of events to occur when a key phrase or word is received. Note: Campaigns utilize existing templates but also run independently from Group Message Templates and Auto Reply Templates.

  1. From the Dashboard, start by pressing the Campaigns icon.
  2. To create a new Campaign, tap on the + icon.
  3. Choose campaign type. (Auto-Reply or Group Message)
    1. If you choose Auto-Reply, you must define a master keyword.
      1. Press “Add Templates” and select all auto-reply templates you want to include in this campaign. IMPORTANT NOTE: All Templates selected for use within a campaign will be sent based on the timing defined, regardless of individual keywords for each Template.
    2. If you choose Group Message, you will press “Add Templates” and select all group message templates you want include in this campaign. IMPORTANT NOTE: All Templates within a campaign will be sent based on the timing defined.
      1. You will then select the contacts and/or groups who will receive the campaign.
  1. From the Dashboard, start by pressing the Group Contacts icon.
  2. Press the Create Contact Group button.
  3. Enter a name for the group. This name is only for your reference.
  4. Add contacts from your phone by touching the +Add button and selecting the contacts you wish to include.
  5. If you would like to assign an image to this group touch the Add Group Photo icon and select the image you would like.
  6. Touch the Create button. You will then see the group summary. Touch the back arrow to return to the Dashboard.

Message History / Logs

Press the Message History icon. All messages sent with ASMI™ are logged and display on this screen. Data includes whether it was a group text or auto-reply template, the contact the message was sent to, the message content and the date & time sent. You may clear the log by pressing the trash icon at the top right of your screen.

Delay Timer

The delay timer provides the ability to define a delay time between messages being sent. This is important if your carrier limits the number of text messages sent per hour, etc. You may select the Retry Sending Failed Messages at the bottom of screen in order for the app to retry sending any messages that may have failed due to lack of cell service or other potential issues.

Pending Schedules

This screen will display all group messages that have been scheduled and unsent.

Opt Out Contacts

This screen is where you may select contacts that you do not want to receive messages from the application. Press the Blocked button to view contacts / groups that have opted out. Note: Your subscribers may reply to any message with the word STOP to be automatically opted out.

Auto Reply to Contacts Only: By enabling this, auto-reply templates will not be sent to ANY numbers that are not in your phone contacts.

Phone Auto Reply: This feature enables auto-reply templates to be sent for missed phone calls. This must also be enabled within the individual templates.

Enable Auto-Reply – Charging/Dock: This feature enables auto-reply templates to be sent for missed phone calls / text messages. This must also be enabled within the individual templates.

Enable Custom Messages (Message Personalization): This feature allows you to easily merge first names, last names and company names by using <firstname>, <lastname>, or <company> in your template. To send a personalized text message to a list of contacts., that message may look like this… “Hi <firstname>, today we are offering our VIP members a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree.” – When John receives that text message it will look like…”Hi John, today we are offering our VIP members a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree.”

Remove App Link From Message: Enabling this will remove the “Sent via ASMI™ app” that is attached to outgoing messages by default.

Show Notification of Sent Messages: By enabling this, a notification will display on your screen when each message is successfully sent.
